The Value Added Philosophy

“Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor.”

– Alexis Carrel

By manufacturing definition, Value Added is the point where the value of a product is increased at specific stages of the production cycle.

We can take that same philosophy and apply it to our every day lives. Define your goal. Who do you want to be 10 years from now? 20 years? Once that idea is defined, we can analyze the actions that are being taken. These actions will either move you closer or farther from that idea.

For example: You want to be rich, well respected, and in shape. The actions you take on a daily basis will either move you closer or farther from that goal. Watching Netflix after work? Congrats, you’ve just moved farther from that goal. Getting up before work to go to the gym? That goal just got a little closer.

The problem that a large majority of the population faces, is that idea is never defined. We spend most of our lives wandering without direction. Without direction, we are lost. There are certain absolutes in this world, and without a doubt you can not recover time. Time is a finite currency. How to spend it is up to you.

My goal for every person that reads this blog is to find purpose. Decide what you want to be, and take the actions that will get you there. Change only occurs through action. Decide to change. Decide to act.
